First-Time Diesel Owners Beware: Extra Maintenance Is Required
If you're new to owning a diesel, there are a lot of maintenance items you should be aware of. Diesel engines, while extremely powerful, are also somewhat fragile if not maintained properly. In fact, failing to complete any one of these basic maintenance tasks could result in your diesel breaking down. But if you properly care for your diesel, you'll have an engine that generates tons of torque, accelerates any big load, and offers you the kind of fuel efficiency that you would expect from a much smaller motor. Diesel's many benefits even have some people predicting that one day in the future all people will own diesel engine vehicles instead of gasoline -- so these maintenance tips might be very important to you down the road.
New Toyota Tundra versus Dodge Ram
I've driven both the Toyota Tundra and the Dodge Ram and compared not only the features of the trucks but also the specs and my impressions of both trucks. While I didn't compare every aspect, I have highlighted what I believe are the key differences between the trucks. I encourage anyone thinking about buying either truck to drive both of them and to read as many reviews as you can before making a decision.
Getting The Best Customer Service From Toyota
Your Toyota (or your Toyota dealer) is giving you a headache. There's a problem and the customer service you've received hasn't been good enough. Your problem is still unresolved. How do you get it solved?
Toyota Customer Service: How to get what you want.
Few things are more frustrating than having a problem with your vehicle. In fact, there's a good chance you bought a Toyota because you thought that it wouldn't have any problems. Unfortunately, even a Toyota has the occasional issue. But what about when your Toyota car, truck, or SUV has a problem that isn't resolved to your satisfaction?
Comparing the 07 Tundra to an 07 Ram
I've compared the Dodge Ram and the Toyota Tundra to see which truck is best. While I didn't evaluate EVERYTHING, I did compare the key components and highlight any distinct differences between the two trucks. As always, I encourage everyone to drive all vehicles they're considering to find out for themselves which is best. Also, make sure to investigate what reputable reviewers like Edmunds and Consumer Reports have to say too.
Is Synthetic Oil the best choice for my Tundra?
People ask me if they should use synthetic oil in their new trucks, and I always answer "It depends." Synthetic oil is better than regular oil for a lot of different reasons. Synthetic is a better lubricant, it maintains its integrity at high temperatures, it is usually pure without any contaminants, and it won't become sludge even when it's abused. To many people, the obvious benefits of synthetic oil mean that they should start using it in their new truck tomorrow. However, it really depends on how you take care of your Tundra.
Is Synthetic oil right for the new Tundra?
This is a question I hear all the time "I just got a new Tundra and I want to treat it right should I use synthetic oil? If so, should it be full synthetic or synthetic blend?" Unfortunately, the answer is complicated. Generally speaking, because synthetic oil has fewer impurities, better properties at high temperatures, slightly better viscosity, and it is more resistant to breakdown than regular oil, synthetic is better for AN engine. However, whether or not its better for YOUR engine depends on a few things.
