What You Need to Know
We’re all ready to be done with the COVID-19 pandemic but it’s not yet done with us. As we head into the fall and winter months with the highly contagious delta variant circulating throughout the country, doctors are warning: Don’t forget about the flu. If you get sick in the coming months, how will you know if it's the flu, COVID-19 or a less serious virus like a cold? It’s crucial to get both your annual flu vaccine and a COVID-19 vaccine.
While we're still learning about COVID-19, we do know it’s extremely contagious. Additionally, different forms of the COVID-19 virus (called "variants") may increase your risk of becoming infected or transmitting the virus to others. Some infections are mild, but the virus can cause major health problems, leading to hospitalization and death.
