Congratulations! So you have just got your new PSP! Certainly you are now drooling over it and are already at it, playing the UMDs you have got bundled with it, or have purchased apart. There is no doubt you will be relishing the experience fully well right now. But have you thought what you will do once you are bored with these UMDs? You will have to go out and buy some new ones, and then some more! And you cannot even play your old favorites any more. You can imagine what a hole that can burn in your pocket. Did I put a great big dampener on your enjoy of getting the new PSP? Well, sorry for that. But, the truth needs to hit out as soon as possible. And, there is actually no need to despair; there's a way out. Have you heard of a PSP firmware downgrade? The good news is that the PSP firmware downgrade is an easy 10 minute process that can make your Playstation Portable compatible with all disc formats. That means, you can not only play the old games from your collection, but also download games from the Internet and play them for free. If only you know to search at the right place! There are many programmers all across the continents who are designing games specifically for the PSP and are uploading them on various sites on the net, making them available for free downloads. These games are known as homebrew games. There are thousands of homebrew games out there on the net, but you cannot play them on your PSP if it is of a version higher than the 1.50. But with a PSP firmware downgrade, you can bring down the version of your PSP to a 1.50. This is a very easy process which requires you to connect the PSP to a computer through a USB cable and then run the Playstation Portable firmware downgrade software. This will bring the PSP to the downgraded form, and will make it compatible with the downloaded homebrew games. There's a large number of excellent games in the homebrew form on the Internet. Once your Playstation Portable is suitable downgraded, you can play all these downloaded homebrew games on your PSP, and never have to buy another UMD if you so wish. Certainly, this solves your problem of having to spend several bucks each month on buying new and interesting game titles. The only catch here it's not a catch actually, it's a limitation is that PSPs above version 3.03 cannot be downgraded. And, of course, if you run the wrong downgrade version, you will end up losing your Playstation Portable forever. It will get bricked, which means, it will get permanently locked.
